In my quest for vintage teacups, I sometimes find ones that have some damage, but are still lovely to look at, even if they have a hairline crack or staining inside. I turned this violet covered teacup into a unique pincushion.

Project: Turn a vintage teacup into a pin cushion.

Choose a thick fabric in a colour that coordinates with the design on the teacup. In this case I used a fine corduroy out of my remnant stash. Cut a large circle and baste along the edge. Gather and stuff with polyester fibre fill, securing opening. Place in cup, stitching side down. Embellish by attaching a flower that matches the cup design to the top of the cushion. Store small hatpins and sewing pins in the cushion.
