I love vintage textiles and happened upon some hand-embroidered pillowcases with delicate crochet trim at an estate sale one day. I wanted to use them, but not on my bed, so decided to modify them into aprons.

Project: Create an apron out of a vintage pillow case.

Begin by slitting the back of the pillowcase from the hem to where the waist will be to allow the fabric to wrap around the lower body. Finish the raw edges. Then gather the neckline slightly to fit the end of the pillowcase case between your arms. Sew on some matching grosgrain ribbon at the waistline and neck. Slip it over your head, tie a big bow at the back and dream up some tasty treats!
