A great resource for local historians is Our Future Our Past. This site allows you to search many scanned regional history books from all over Alberta. These books have a lot of anecdotal information on local families. Since large families tend to spread out over time, looking in neighboring communities can sometimes provide information about your family of interest. It’s not always easy to know what resources exist, however, so a website like this one gives you access to unknown materials, especially if hardcopy versions of the books have sold out and are unavailable for loan or purchase. You may even discover a book that has so much relevant information that you decide to search out your own copy!
